Before the premiere of House of the Dragon, the streaming service dropped a lengthy preview including both new and returning shows.

But the most poignant teaser that now has everyone itching with anticipation was the 2023 adaption of the popular Naughty Dog gaming series: The Last of Us.

The brief yet telling clip shows Games of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey playing the leading roles of Joel and Ellie in the post-apocalyptic drama.

"Everybody I have cared for has either died or left me," Ramsey says in the teaser as the two stars are seen trekking through a rugged and snowy land.

"You have no idea what loss is," Joel eerily responds.

While the synopsis for The Last of Us hasn't been released yet, it seems the adaption might follow the same storyline as the gaming franchise.

The 2013 video game followed a smuggler named Joel who was tasked with escorting a teenager named Ellie across a zombified America. Along the way, the contrasting characters end up developing a father/daughter-like relationship.

The upcoming series will also feature Gabriel Luna as Tommy with actors such as Nick Offerman, Murray Bartlett, Merle Dandridge, Nico Parker, Jeffrey Pierce, and Anna Torv set to play supporting roles.

The Last of Us will debut in 2023 on HBO Max!
