Raceland, Louisiana– Gypsy Rose Blanchard's ex-fiancé Ken Urker died on his 34th birthday. He was found unresponsive at his home in Louisiana, and Gypsy says she is in "disbelief" and "can't think."
Louisiana police arrived at Urker's residence in Raceland, Louisiana, Thursday around 6:15 PM. Officers confirmed that 34-year-old Urker was found "dead upon arrival," as TMZ first reported.
The Lafourche Sheriff’s Office is still investigating Urker's death.
Urker was reportedly found by Gypsy’s brother Dylan and his wife when they arrived at the house. Urker's sister confirmed her brother’s death in a TikTok livestream.
Blanchard had texted Urker "Happy Birthday" but never received a reply, per TMZ.
According to Blanchard, as People reported, Ken Urker died of an overdose on his birthday. “I don’t know if it was intentional or not," Gypsy Rose told People magazine.
Urker was not in a "good place" according to Gypsy Rose
“[Ken Urker] was not in a good state of mind lately," Gypsy Rose Blanchard told People.
“I’m in disbelief. I can’t think,” she added. “I’ve screamed until my throat burns.”
Ken Urker and Blanchard first connected while Gypsy Rose was still in jail for the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
They got engaged in 2018, split briefly in 2019, then separated for years.
During their time apart, Gypsy married Ryan Anderson, and then left him four months after being released from prison in December 2023.
In April 2024, Blanchard and Urker reunited. Their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, was born in December. Per Blanchard, Urker was scrutinized, attacked, and subjected to online hate throughout their relationship.
Gypsy described her fiancé as a good father and the love of her life: “Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved. He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase.”
“I will make sure [Aurora] grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her and who he was beyond what strangers on the internet chose to say about him,” Blanchard said.
Blanchard is asking for privacy as those closest to Urker mourn his passing. "There are no words that can express the depth of this loss. I ask for privacy and compassion for our daughter, our families, and everyone grieving Ken during this incredibly painful time,” she tells People.
