Hayden Panettiere: Frantic 911 call reveals desperate attempts to save her life
Greenville, South Carolina - Newly released 911 audio from the day actor Hayden Panettiere died has revealed how her on-and-off boyfriend's brother attempted to save her life.
Zach Hickerson, the brother of Panettiere's ex Brian Hickerson, discovered the Nashville star unresponsive in a rented apartment in South Carolina back in August.
Per the 911 call obtained by ABC News, Zach told the operator, "[I] walked in after church to my brother and his girlfriend's apartment, and he woke up, and his girl... She's unconscious."
At the top of the call, Zach is heard seemingly speaking to someone else as he asked, "Oh, god, oh, my god – you do like CPR or something?"
In the seven-minute call, Zach said Panettiere did not seem to be breathing, so the brothers were coached on how to perform CPR.
The former child star was ultimately pronounced dead after emergency responders arrived at the apartment. She was only 36 years old.
Her death was later ruled an accidental overdose of multiple drugs, including fentanyl.
Police reports have revealed that Panettiere quietly sought help for addiction and spent a few weeks at a drug rehab facility shortly before her death.
Earlier this month, her former fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, headed to court to demand a police investigation into the alleged theft of some of the late actor's personal belongings.
