Los Angeles, California - Taylor Swift dished on writing the song I Knew It, I Knew You for Toy Story 5 as the filmmaker revealed why she was picked!
During a Q&A, director Andrew Stanton said the Patient Zero hitmaker was the only person who "made sense" to write the end credits song in place of the franchise's original writer, Randy Newman.
Taylor clarified that she wanted to ensure that she wasn't stepping on anyone's toes, as she was initially too busy to work on the collaboration due to her Eras Tour.
"I was repeatedly asking, 'I know that it took me a couple of months to come back to this project. Be honest – did you guys replace me?" she told the crowd.
She added, "I don't want to kick somebody off of this project that you reached out to after me. I understand, but I'm not in the business of doing that."

The 14-time Grammy-winning singer, who was recently inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, has been sparking Oscar buzz with the original song.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Andrew Stanton further recalled his emotional reaction to hearing the track for the first time after the Anti-Hero artist completed it.
"I got choked up when I heard it," the animator shared. "The only other time I've heard a song that just dropped from thin air and was perfect was when Randy Newman came in and played You've Got a Friend in Me on piano."
