Los Angeles, California - Zendaya is taking on another sci-fi role – this time in a new A24 movie from director Alex Garland!
Deadline confirmed Thursday that the 30-year-old Marvel actor has signed on to join Garland's new sci-fi flick, which he both wrote and directed.
So far, details on the plot and Zendaya's character are being kept under wraps, but the outlet dished that shooting is planned for next year.
Garland, who has not yet worked with Zendaya, is known for hit films like Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Civil War.
Zendaya has had a very successful collaborative relationship with A24 so far in her career. The studio was behind HBO's Euphoria – which earned her two Emmy Awards – as well as this year's black comedy The Drama, co-starring Robert Pattinson.
After a very busy 2026, Zendaya has hinted at stepping away from the spotlight after the press tour for Dune: Part Three at the end of the year.
"I just hope you guys don't get sick of me this year, because I'll tell you what, I'm disappearing for a little bit," she said in March.
Considering the shooting schedule of the new film, she might be able to pull it off, as its release and subsequent promo run aren't likely to occur before 2028.
