London, UK - After Charles Spencer caused a stir with a bombshell memoir about his sister, Princess Diana, his nephew appears to be following suit: Prince Harry is reportedly planning to make a documentary about his late mother.

According to new reports, the film could be released next August to mark the 30th anniversary of the death of "The People's Princess."

As The Telegraph notes, the Duke of Sussex has already reached out to several of Diana's friends and her 62-year-old brother to enlist them for the potential documentary – though no official confirmation of the project has been made.

Insiders explained: "He is still considering the most meaningful way to honor her legacy during this important anniversary year."

According to the same sources, Harry is also weighing other projects besides a possible documentary.

The film could be produced by Archewell Productions, the joint production company of Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.

The current reports also align with rumors that surfaced in early September, when it was first suggested that Harry might be working on a film about his mother.

Over the summer, Diana's youngest son visited his mother's resting place during a trip to the UK.

A royal expert noted: "Let's not forget who Harry spent time with when he was here in July, it was Diana's family at Althorp," per Page Six.

Though many fans would welcome such a documentary, there is someone who is not at all thrilled about it: Diana's eldest son and heir-to-the-throne, Prince William.

The 44-year-old is reportedly irritated with "people always linking Harry to Diana."

A palace expert explained, "She was the mother of two boys. William is just as much his mother's son as Harry is, and Harry has tried to claim the Diana legacy for himself."

The brothers have already worked together on a film about their mother.

Nine years ago, on the 20th anniversary of her death, they released the documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy. However, they have been at odds since Harry stepped down as a working royal in 2020.
