Cape Cod, Massachusetts – The "looksmaxxing" influencer Clavicular, AKA Braden Peters, has been charged with rape in Massachusetts – and this isn't the 20-year-old's first run-in with the law.
The allegations against Peters, more commonly known by his online handle Clavicular, are serious.
Peters has been charged with one count of rape, one count of drugging someone for sexual intercourse, and one count of providing alcohol to a minor, per the list of charges filed in a Massachusetts court on September 8.
After The Bulwark reported the charges against Peters, the influencer's rep told NBC News: "Braden Peters has not been physically served. As usual, The Bulwark is exaggerating."
The alleged offenses occurred on May 23, 2025, as Variety reports. While no further information is available, multiple outlets have noted that the charges line up with the timeline of accusations made by fellow influencer Aleksandra Vasilevna Mendoza in April.
18-year-old Mendoza, known online as Alorah Ziva, filed a civil suit in Miami‑Dade County against Peters in April. Mendoza was a minor at the time of the incident, according to CBS.
Peters denied Mendoza's allegations back in July, and his legal team has filed a motion to dismiss several counts of the lawsuit.
In her complaint, Mendoza said she had nonconsensual sexual encounters with Peters at his family home in Cape Cod while she was intoxicated.
Peters' spokesperson told TMZ that Mendoza added the allegation of sexual assault months after the original filing.
Clavicular calls the lawsuit against him "petty"
In the wake of this latest lawsuit, Peters took to X, writing: "Trying to get my attention in anyway possible, a lawsuit? Seriously… really petty of you."
In his post, he included a video of Mendoza in which she calls him "super nice" and a letter she allegedly wrote thanking him.
This isn't the influencer's first run-in with the law.
In 2024, Peters was arrested after a bar fight, but the assault and battery charges were later dismissed.
In February 2026, he was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, but those charges were also dropped.
He was charged in April with unlawfully discharging a firearm and shooting a dead alligator while livesteaming. As Variety reported, Peters got a plea deal that gave him a sentence of six months of probation and 20 hours of community service.
Peters' arraignment is set for October 14. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years behind bars and would have to register as a sex offender.
The controversial influencer first gained internet fame for his so-called looksmaxxing practices, which even include bone bashing in the hopes of gaining a more defined facial structure.
He boasts more than a million followers on both Instagram and TikTok.
