Los Angeles, California - Jennifer Aniston discussed her shocking divorce from Brad Pitt during her final appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

On Thursday, Ellen DeGeneres bid adieu to her long-running talk show series with a plethora of special moments and guests.

Aniston was one of the guests who graced the show many times and, of course, returned to help mark the occasion.

During the intimate chat, the Friends alum told her pal that when the popular series ended – so did her marriage to Pitt.

"Well, I got a divorce and went into therapy," the 53-year-old joked with the host.

"And then I did a movie called The Break-Up," Aniston continued.

"I just kinda leaned into the end. I just was like, 'You know what, guys? Let's make this a completely new chapter. Let's just end everything and start new.' It worked great."

The former pair shocked the world in 2005 when they announced their separation and then finalized their divorce that October.

Despite the heartbreaking split, Aniston and Pitt have remained close friends throughout the years.

At one point, fans speculated that the pair would reconcile, particularly after their cute red carpet moment at 2020 SAG Awards where Pitt was seen holding onto to his ex-wife – who looked equally thrilled to see him.

Alas, Aniston is currently single, and Pitt just got out of a intense divorce court battle with his other ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.
