Washington DC - A new report found that President Donald Trump and Republicans may be on their way to losing their majority hold in the upcoming midterms in November.
In data shared on Friday, Cook Political Reporting shifted 15 House races to favor Democrats with just a bit more than a month from the elections.
CPR further projected that Democrats – who only need to win 3 seats to take back the majority – could win between five and 15 seats.
The damning numbers come as Republicans have been fighting to hang on to their razor-thin majority in the House and Senate.
If the party loses that majority, Democrats will make it difficult for Trump to pass his agenda in the second half of his term, and many have vowed to file articles of impeachment against him.
Even though his favorability polling is at record lows, the Republican Party has run as though "Trump is on the ballot," hoping his popularity with MAGA will help boost support for candidates across the country.
According to Axios, Republicans have a huge financial advantage, recording $13 million more in cash in hand than Democrats.
In a statement to the outlet, a spokesperson for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) argued, "Nobody outside the DC bubble cares what a bunch of pundits slap on a race rating."
"House races are won in the districts, and Republicans have the stronger ground game, air superiority across the battleground, and historic financial firepower while Democrats are still begging for cash just to prop up their socialist bailout fund," they added.
