Berlin, Germany – For six days, Berlin will once again find itself in the spotlight as an international fashion metropolis. Berlin’s 23rd Fashion Week will present renowned labels and designers showing off the best new looks and the future of the fashion scene.

From September 5 to 10, this year’s themes of sustainability and innovation will be showcased at more than 120 runway shows, panel talks, and top hot spot events.

Here’s what’s being offered at Germany’s largest fashion event and the hottest happenings in the world of style.

As the focus of Berlin Fashion Week 2022 is sustainability, innovation, and the influence of subcultures, the events from September 5 to 10 will be jam-packed with traditional runway shows and exploring cutting-edge event formats.

Here are the highlights of 2022’s Berlin Fashion Week:

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: On Monday, September 5, MBFW will commence with its kick-off event, MBFW Opening: Mercedes-Benz Creators Night, complete with two main acts.

Attendees will witness the Mercedes-Benz Capsule Collection’s "ACC01" installation, made of recycled materials under the artistic direction of Berlin-based creative studio Acte TM.

US music producer and tech entrepreneur will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas fame will perform a one-time show with Mercedes-AMG, entitled The Flip.

The Berlin Salon: The popular exhibition is moving to the Kulturforum for Berlin Fashion Week, further expanding its long-term commitment to sustainable fashion and design in Germany.

Its main focus will be on a group exhibition curated by Christiane Arp with the help of 30 local and national participants, as well as an alumni installation with 24 designers and manufacturers from the last edition of the Berlin Salon.

Estethica: Under a new name, Fashion Open Studio will make its debut as Estethica. The craft, commitment, and ethos of a new generation of sustainable fashion designers will be celebrated in full. In a uniquely staged exhibition, six local and four Ukrainian creatives will present their work.

Another must-see is the Upcycling Lab, where creative minds can meet, gather ideas, try out new techniques, and exchange information about upcycling materials.

202030 – The Berlin Fashion Summit: How can fashion have a positive impact on the world? The question will be the focus of the 202030 – The Berlin Fashion Summit in a forum titled Accelerate Transformation: Fashion for Positive Impact.

The program offers numerous panel discussions, interviews, and keynote presentations with more than 50 top international speakers.

Neo.Fashion: Neo.Fashion will be at Berlin Fashion Week for the sixth time, and has become one of the most important and largest platforms for graduates and young talents in Germany’s design field. This year, Neo.Fashion will showcase the designs of eleven universities and more than 80 graduates.

STUDIO2RETAIL: Organized by the Fashion Council Germany, STUDIO2RETAIL supports Berlin's retail trade and local designers. In addition to hosting a competition for six innovative offsite shows with prize money, the project will offer exciting events featuring a variety of the latest fashion brands and stores.
