On October 11, the Okmulgee Police Department shared on Facebook that four men - Mark Chastain (32), his brother Billy Chastain (30), Mike Sparks (32), and Alex Stevens (29) - were reported missing by Mark's wife.

The department described them as "close friends" who were last seen riding bicycles together on October 9.

Authorities were reportedly tipped off by a witness that the men were on their way to "commit some type of criminal act."

"That belief is based upon information supplied by a witness who reports they were invited to go with the men to 'hit a lick big enough for all of them.'" explained police chief Joe Prentice.

The dismembered remains of the four men were found in a local river over the weekend. Investigators revealed that all four men had been shot prior.

A person of interest in the Oklahoma murder case is in custody

In a recent update, the department announced that Joe Kennedy, a person of interest in the case who owns a nearby salvage yard, was arrested in Florida for driving a stolen vehicle.

Kennedy has denied knowing any of the men, but investigations of his yard and other nearby locations revealed "evidence of a violent event at an adjoining property."

The Okmulgee Police Department said they have begun the process of getting Kennedy back to Okmulgee County for further questioning about the murders.
