Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Following an anonymous tip, local law enforcement searched a residential home and found a horrific secret that had been hidden in the basement for years.

The Burton Street home, located in the Wissinoming section of Philly, has been the site of an ongoing investigation after the tip placed last week led authorities there.

Upon arriving, investigators were met with a hoarding situation, as the house was overrun with piles of trash, debris, and random belongings.

Recent weather conditions also hindered the search, as the basement was flooded from rains and had to be drained before proceeding.

Two days were spent clearing the scene, and last Thursday, investigators reportedly discovered human remains at the scene.

Finally, on Monday, the remains of a woman were reached where the body was encased underneath a foot of concrete for possibly more than eight years.

The investigation still continues, leaving neighbors, who say they have not seen the couple who lives at the home for some time, deeply troubled.

"I'm really concerned about this," one neighbor told CBS Philadelphia. "It bothers me because it's my next-door neighbor. I mean you don't know what happens behind closed doors."

Medical examiners will conduct an autopsy to conclude if the victim was murdered before being buried underneath the concrete.
