The Braves have been streaking through the first two weeks of the season. First, they were surprisingly cold, going 0 for 4. Then they got hot, winning four straight, only to go on another four-game losing streak, coming into Thursday's game against the Marlins.

The Marlins had won the previous three games in this series, needing just one more to give the Braves their first home sweep of the season. Atlanta had other ideas as they didn't go away quietly, winning this fourth game thanks to a Dansby Swanson (27) 9th inning single.

The Marlins got out to a 3-0 lead by the end of the fourth inning, but then the Braves scored five runs in the middle innings to strike back. The rest of the game was a battle until Atlanta answered Miami's two-run top of the ninth with its own two-run bottom half of their own to take the much-needed win.

For the Braves, Pablo Sandoval was the big contributor, hitting a three-run home run in the seventh inning to keep his team in the game. Superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. hit a two-run homer, to add to the fireworks for the Braves. Dansby Swanson's went 3 for 4 in the game but his game-winning single was the hit that meant the most in the win.

Miami fought hard in this one with a solo home run in the seventh from Starling Marte. And Corey Dickerson went 2 for 4, with an RBI.

On Friday, the Braves head to Chicago for a three-game set against the Cubs, while the Marlins go back home for their own three-game series against the Giants.

The Mariners took both games of a doubleheader against the Orioles, by a score of 4-2 in Game 1, and 2-1 in a close Game 2.

Fans of the Nationals quickly turned on their home team with boos aplenty after they allowed Arizona nearly all the runs they needed in just the first two innings, losing 11-6 to the Diamondbacks.

Meanwhile, extra innings were required in Tampa as the Rangers got away with the 6-4 win over the Rays.

The Royals were able to outlast the Blue Jays at home 7-5, while the Athletics were just too much for the Tigers, winning out 8-4.

In LA, the Dodgers needed extra innings to get over the line against the Rockies, 7-5.

And for the third time in five days, the Mets get rained out, as their game against the Phillies was postponed to a later date.

On Friday, the Yankees face the Rays again, this time in New York, while the Mets will hope to actually play some baseball in Colorado against the Rockies.
