After getting blown way out in game one and falling in game two, the Knights won Thursday night 6-3 over the Avs, coming out on top four games in a row to cap off the series comeback. Vegas now has a date with Montreal in the upcoming Stanley Cup semifinals.

Vegas earned the win by spreading around the opportunities to score, paying off in a big way with six individual Knights lighting the lamp in their series-clinching win.

There were goals by first-year Golden Knight Alex Pietrangelo (31), Nick Holden, William Karlsson, Keegan Kolesar, William Carrier, and Max Pacioretty.

Colorado had a little fight in them mixed with a sense of urgency when they got on the board first, literally just seconds into the game. But Vegas answered back like they often had during the series with a quick goal soon after that, and another one for good measure to finish the first period.

Bot teams traded goals during the middle portion with Vegas keeping the lead through the rest of the game to close things out.

Veteran goalie Marc-Andre Fleury moved a little through the history books by earning his 89th career playoff win, for fourth-place all-time.

The Golden Knights are looking to go further this time around

The Knights find themselves back in familiar territory now that they’re once again in the cup semifinals. They came up short last year to the Dallas Stars in the semis, hoping to do much better this postseason.

Standing in their way are the Montreal Canadiens, who made it to the semifinals after upsetting two of the North Division’s best hockey teams, the Maple Leafs and the Jets. The Habs just swept the Jets in the second round and are sitting pretty with a winning streak of their own, but for Vegas’ sake, hopefully the magic has run out north of the border.

The Stanley Cup semifinals start with game one between the Golden Knights and Canadiens on Monday, from Las Vegas.
