Beware the scare! Just in time for Halloween, gamers have gotten a huge treat.

Konami producer Motoi Okamoto shared in a statement that although the franchise has been "silent" for many years now, it has definitely been on developer's minds.

"Even during that silence, we had been receiving proposals for new entries and remakes," he added. "This is truly a franchise that is beloved by so many fans."

Konami has now teamed up with developers Bloober Team to remake Silent Hill 2, which was originally released on the PlayStation 2 nearly 21 years ago.

They have released a new trailer for the remake, and it looks absolutely beautiful – in a horrific way. It boasts the use of the Unreal Engine 5, and is implementing a new over-the-shoulder point of view, a welcome change from the fixed camera angle of the original.

As if the remake wasn't enough to get excited about, Konami also revealed other projects coming soon during their recent Transmission Livestream: Silent Hill F, Silent Hill: Townfall, Silent Hill: Ascension – an interactive streaming series, and Return to Silent Hill - a second film in the franchise most based on the plot of the Silent Hill 2 game.

The most exciting project appears to be Silent Hill F, which also got a creepy trailer reveal, sharing that the game "follows a completely new story set in 1960s Japan."

While no release date has been set for any of the Silent Hill projects, gamers can expect big things to come from the franchise, and perhaps the best horror game offerings yet.
