When your whole brand was built off being relatable, turning your back on those who supported you because of it isn't the best business plan.

But when you're a self-made millionaire with a bone to pick and a social media channel to share your outrage, all PR plans go out the door.

That's what Rachel Hollis, author of Girl, Wash Your Face, ended up doing after one comment too many called her "unrelatable".

Instead of airing her grievances with her team or loved ones and coming up with a plan of attack, Hollis took to TikTok to share her candid reaction to the claims.

In the now-deleted video, the life coach and self-help guru went on a defensive tirade about her lack of relatability – explaining that "unrelatable" is exactly what she wanted to be.

"What is it about me that made you think I want to be relatable? No sis. Literally everything I do in my life is to live a life that most people can't relate to," Hollis said in the video.

Although these days she lives life more upscale, she's also a motivational speaker and life coach that dishes out words of encouragement and self-love for a living. Her words and real-life experiences are what led her to the top of the mountain.

Yet, she still felt it was necessary to draw a line in the sand to distinguish herself from those who have supported her, her book, her family, and her lifestyle brand.

There's something to be said about biting the hand that feeds you – something Hollis might soon find out.
