Massachusetts man arrested for sharing posts threatening to kill Trump
Boston, Massachusetts - A Massachusetts man was recently arrested and charged with allegedly sharing a series of Facebook posts in which he threatened to kill President Donald Trump.
According to a press release shared by the Department of Justice, Andrew D. Emerald (45) of Great Barrington was indicted on Wednesday by a federal grand jury on eight counts of interstate transmission of threatening communications.
Emerald reportedly shared eight separate expletive-ridden posts in 2025, where he heavily criticized the president, made comments about his location, and openly discussed his death.
In several posts made in May, Emarald vowed to "hunt down" Trump, whom he described as "the enemy of the United States."
"I'll make sure you're at Mar-a-Lago when I burn it to the f**king ground," he allegedly wrote in a post dated May 30.
In the eigth post, dated July 7, Emerald wrote, "Trump either you're dead by 2026 or I'm coming for you personally and if I'm the one that kills you, you're gonna suffer you little f**king b***h."
If convicted, Emerald could face up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000.
The arrest comes as there have been similar cases involving social media threats against Trump, including a Virginia man who was sentenced in March to more than two years in prison.
A gunman attempted to assassinate Trump during a Pennsylvania rally while he was running for president in 2024, but ultimately just grazed the politician's ear.
