Donald Trump's post-shutdown poll numbers fall to new second-term low

Washington DC - A new poll has found that President Donald Trump's approval rating has sunk to yet another all-time low in his second term, as many Americans continue to disapprove of his leadership.

A Gallup poll shared on Friday revealed that President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen, reaching a second all-time low for his second term.

A recent Gallup poll – which surveyed 1,321 adults across all 50 US states via telephone interview from November 3 to 25 – found that an astounding 60% of Americans disapproved of Trump's handling of the presidency, while only 36% approve.

The new approval rating is a 5% drop from a steady rating of around 40% Trump had maintained in the same poll over the past three months.

It's also the lowest score of his second term, and two points shy of his all-time low of 34%, which was recorded in 2021 during his first term.

The poll comes only a few weeks after the end of the longest government shutdown in US history, which resulted in over $11 billion in economic damage.

Trump's poor approval numbers reveal a growing level of discontent among Americans over many of the president's policies, such as the economy and his tariffs, his aggressive immigration agenda, the sending of federal troops to US cities, and his mishandling of the files on notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Nonetheless, Trump continues to insist he has "the highest poll numbers of my political career," and recently attributed his rise in popularity to "smart people."
