NFL: KC defense dominates Dallas for Chiefs’ fourth win in a row

Kansas City, Missouri - The Kansas City Chiefs earned another gritty win at home, this time over one of the NFL’s top teams, the Dallas Cowboys.

The Chiefs got a tough win on Sunday over the Cowboys 19-9 for their fourth-straight win and Dallas’ second loss in three games.

These two division leaders matched up featuring two of the league’s best young quarterbacks, but the game was surprisingly not a high-scoring shootout.

Instead, the defense was the theme as the Chiefs made plays to stifle Dallas’ high-powered offense.

The Chiefs were the better team early, putting up nine unanswered points before the Cowboys scored three towards the end of the first quarter.

KC scored again to open the second quarter as it seemed like the Chiefs just might pull away with a comfortable lead.

Both teams traded field goals in the third and the Cowboys were still down by two scores.

But the fourth quarter had the Cowboys only mustering three more points as their time ran out, and Kansas City claimed victory.

The defense was king in Kansas City and defensive tackle Chris Jones (27) led the way.

He was the lead man who most disrupted Cowboys star Dak Prescott behind the line of scrimmage.

And since most of his tackles in the game were quarterback sacks, it’s hard not to notice his impact on Dallas’ game plan.

Jones finished the game with five total tackles, three and a half of them sacks, with a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Riding an impressive four-game winning streak, the Chiefs are certainly playing like the Super Bowl contenders most of the football world thought they were heading into the regular season.

They are a real threat on either side of the ball, even more so after holding the third-best average scoring team, with 29.3 points per game, to only nine on Sunday.

Not bad for a team that started the season 3-4 before rolling along with four wins in a row heading into Thanksgiving!

In two weeks, the Chiefs (7-4) stay at home to host the Broncos (5-5) while the Cowboys (7-3) have a Thanksgiving game this Thursday against the Raiders (5-5).
