Blake Lively dealt major blow as judge dimisses most of her claims against Justin Baldoni

New York, New York - A federal judge has dismissed the majority of charges Blake Lively leveled against her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, amid a tense legal battle.

On Thursday, US District Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed 10 out of the 13 claims Lively made in her lawsuit, including her allegation that Baldoni sexually harassed her.

"That Baldoni suggested scenes involving sexual acts in the context of developing a motion picture involving such adult themes did not create a 'sexually objectionable environment' or an environment hostile to women (or to men) because of sex," Liman wrote, per ABC News.

Lively will, however, be able to pursue her claims that her 42-year-old co-star and his team conducted a smear campaign against her.

The judge ruled that the impact on the 38-year-old's reputation has been "particularly severe, given the nature of Lively's profession, which places a heavy emphasis on personal and professional marketability."

Despite the significant blow to her case, Lively's team stressed that the smear campaign is the heart of the case.

"This case has always been and will remain focused on the devastating retaliation and the extraordinary steps the defendants took to destroy Blake Lively's reputation because she stood up for safety on the set, and that is the case that is going to trial," attorney Sigrid McCawley said.

Baldoni's side, meanwhile, celebrated the "narrowed" scope of Lively's case following the ruling and said they "look forward" to the dispute going to trial.

Lively first sued Baldoni, who directed It Ends With Us in addition to co-starring as the male lead, for sexual harassment and retaliation in December 2024.

Baldoni countersued the Gossip Girl actor for defamation and extortion, but his claims were tossed by Judge Liman last June.

After settlement talks failed back in February, the case is set to go to trial on May 18, where both stars are expected to testify.
