On Tuesday, rumors about the Friends co-stars dating in real life sent fans all over the world into a frenzy.

Viewers of the TV show were over the moon to learn that their favorite on-screen couple might be hitting it off behind the camera, after a source told the British magazine Closer that the two were "spending time" – with "lots of chemistry between them".

According to the source, their "reminiscing over the past" during the long-awaited reunion-special in May, "had stirred up feelings for both".

However, it seems like it was all just too good to be true, as David Schwimmer shut down the rumors by officially denying reports that he and Aniston were "enjoying quality time together".

His rep told the Sun that there is "no truth" to the reports about the two of them dating.
