The second edition of the College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings were released and reigning national champion Georgia has taken back the No. 1 spot!

After a classy win over the Vols that almost looked to be a blowout heading into the final quarter, the Dawgs stamped their season's dominance and proved to the committee that they're the best – so far.

Coming in hot to round out the top four are the three unbeaten teams, Ohio State, Michigan, and TCU – who landed in the top four for the second time in program history.

If the Buckeyes and Wolverines get through the next two weeks unscathed, one undefeated team will fall on November 26 when the conference rivals meet in the biggest game of the Big Ten.

The matchup will hugely affect the Playoff rankings since only the winning team will then be guaranteed a spot into the semifinal bowl game.

Luckily for No. 5 Tennessee, not all hope is lost.

After their Week 10 whooping, the Vols still have a chance to make the four-team playoff field given the strength of its victories up until this point.

Ultimately, one team that enters the playoffs will have a loss on their resume and with the looks of the season so far, Tennessee could certainly be that team!

Tuesday night's rankings marks the first time in the history of the CFP that neither Alabama nor LSU are ranked in the top six

The sixth and final selection of CFP rankings for the 2022 season will be released on December 4 at the conclusion of the college football conference championships.
