The Horned Frogs outplayed the Wolverines in one of the most explosive games of the year, pulling off the biggest upset in CFP history since Ohio State defeated then No. 1 Alabama in the 2014 playoffs.

The first of Saturday's two semifinals was a staggering game that looked as if it was in the bag for TCU at halftime, but it was never truly over until the final whistle was blown.

College football fans were ecstatic and bewildered at State Farm Stadium after witnessing TCU nearly blow an early 18-point lead after a pair of crafty pick-sixes, two fumbles, a 76-yard touchdown pass, and eight scores in roughly eight minutes.

The Fiesta Bowl matchup was a back-and-forth affair that also saw Michigan score a record-setting 59-yard field goal, while both teams contributed to the highest combined score in Fiesta Bowl history!

Relentlessly, the Wolverines fought hard against the Horned Frogs' genius offense and defense, but ultimately, TCU stiff-armed Michigan and secured the win.

In the end, purple confetti fell at State Farm Stadium after TCU's monumental victory that secured their spot in the history books as the first Big 12 team to play in the CFP National Championship game.

The Horned Frogs will represent the Big 12 in the national championship game against the Peach Bowl winner Georgia on January 9 at 7:30 PM EST at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood.
