NCAA Football: Buckeyes make it nine in a row by bashing rivals Michigan state

Columbus, Ohio - The Ohio State Buckeyes completely dominated to get an easy win over their Big Ten rivals, the Michigan State Spartans, on Saturday.

The fourth-ranked Buckeyes blew out the seventh-ranked Spartans 56-7 for their ninth-straight victory this season, while Michigan State suffered its second loss of the season.

This game was all Ohio State’s and it often looked like Michigan State never showed up at the stadium, considering how non-existent the Spartans offense was.

The Buckeyes, on the other hand, were firing on all cylinders as they put up seven unanswered touchdowns in the first half alone before something finally went Michigan State’s way.

Ohio State did actually punt in the game too, but it wasn’t until the fourth quarter when they were up 49-0.

The game was just so severely one-sided that it was tough to tell whether the Spartans defense was that bad or the Buckeyes offense was just really that good, as Ohio State racked up 655 total yards in the game.

Ohio State’s freshman quarterback C.J. Stroud (20) had a game for the ages. He’s only a freshman, but one who's currently playing like he has no ceiling.

His time was cut short in the third quarter on Saturday, but not before having the best game of his very young college career.

You might say that Stroud single-handedly beat the Spartans based on all the offense he generated while playing.

He finished the game with 32-for-35 passing, 432 yards, and six touchdowns.

The Buckeyes have been making a strong case all season long for one of this year’s four playoff spots.

After Saturday’s monster win, they now also have a front-runner at quarterback for college football’s most prestigious honor, the Heisman Trophy, in Stroud.

What's more, Ohio State has put up 50 or more points in six winning games, so there’s no reason they won’t end the regular season with the Big Ten Conference championship.

Next Saturday, the Buckeyes will travel to take on another rival, the Michigan Wolverines, while the Spartans will host the Penn State Nittany Lions.
