Michelle Bluestone and her dog, Lola, were deeply connected besties for three years.

Then, in 2021, the little Schnauzer mix disappeared without a trace through a gap under the fence of her home in Reseda, California.

Bluestone tried everything to find her furry friend and put her faith in the dog's microchip.

But nothing happened: Lola stayed lost, and no one called.

After five years, Bluestone had given up hope. Then, her phone rang!

"I was in such shock, I couldn't believe it," Bluestone told KTLA 5.

Lola had been found and taken to the Echo Park animal shelter. The dog's microchip led the rescuers to her owner.

"I wasn't even processing the fact that my dog could be there," Bluestone said. The dog mom described the first few months after Lola's disappearance as "the worst time of my life."

"I went through so much stress. I spent weeks and months looking for her, putting up flyers everywhere. She was microchipped, so I was waiting for a phone call that someone had found her," Bluestone said.

She kept the lost dog ads up on Facebook, but after a few years, she assumed Lola had passed away.

Even though Bluestone missed Lola, she moved on.

The Californian got married, moved to Simi Valley, and even got a new dog named Sunny.

Despite the changes, Bluestone was thrilled to have her Lola back.
