The 62-year-old musician succumbed to complications of metastatic colon carcinoma, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office told E! News.

Ronnie Turner, whose manner of death was deemed natural, also suffered from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in addition to colon cancer, the coroner’s office told the outlet.

Ronnie appeared in 1993′s What’s Love Got to Do with It, a biopic about his mother’s musical legacy and notoriously abusive marriage at the hands of his father.
