Dolly Parton is set to bring her writing talents to the bestseller list

Country music star Dolly Parton, who’s starred in hit films Steel Magnolias and 9 to 5 and helped fund the Moderna vaccine, is adding author to her impressive resume.
The multi-talented US national treasure has announced she has teamed up with writer James Patterson to pen Run, Rose, Run, which is fittingly set in Tennessee and tells the story of a singer who moves to Nashville hoping to make it big.
Parton was born in Pittman Center, Tennessee, in 1946 and moved to Nashville in 1964 right after finishing high school. Her literary debut hits shelves in March.
"I cannot be more excited about the release of my very first novel," Parton wrote on Twitter.
She also announced a new CD is being released in conjunction with the book, and it's based on the story’s characters and their experiences.
Patterson, whose novels include Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls, tweeted that he’s "delighted" to work with the Here You Come Again singer. He recently teamed up with former President Bill Clinton to write The President’s Daughter.
Patterson’s website offers a preview of what readers can expect from his collaboration with Parton. A short Run, Rose, Run teaser reads: "She’s a star on the rise, singing about the hard life behind her. She’s also on the run. Find a future, lose a past."
Parton has been nominated for an Academy Award, Grammy Award, Tony Award, and an Emmy Award during her storied career. Patterson has won the Edgar Award and had 19 consecutive New York Times bestsellers.
