New York, New York – Kacey Musgraves left little to the imagination in her first performance on Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

On Saturday, Musgraves hit the SNL stage for her first performance of the night, seemingly clad in nothing but her cowboy boots and an acoustic guitar.

With dazzling stage lights adorning her bare skin, Musgraves quite literally gave a stripped down performance of her single Justified, off her fifth studio album, Star-Crossed.

Moments after performing, Musgraves posted a photo on Twitter hinting that her attire, or lack there of, was inspired by a scene from Forrest Gump where Jenny Curran is performing at a bar clad in nothing but her birthday suit and a guitar.

The 33-year-old next returned to the stage barefoot, dressed in blue jeans and a green cropped flannel shirt, to perform her single Camera Roll.

On September 10, the country music crooner released Star-Crossed, an album where the Texas native navigates the emotions and mental blocks of her own post-divorce world.

In 2020, Musgraves and her then-husband Ruston Kelly split after three years of marriage.

While Star-Crossed might be an album where the Grammy-winning artist works through the complex feelings regarding their relationship at its various stages, she still views it as one crafted with nothing but love.

In September, Musgraves told NPR, "This album is full of a lot of love and gratitude for that person, for Ruston [Kelly], for my life and my ability to explore all the emotions as a songwriter."
