Shooting spree at rap album release concert leaves two dead and more injured

Miami, Florida - Three unidentified men waited for people attending an album release in at a nightclub in Miami to leave the club for the night before opening fire on the crowd. Some patrons fired back, and the attackers fled, but not before killing two and injuring at least 20.

Two people died on the scene and at least 20 others were injured and taken to hospitals for treatment, Miami-Dade police said Sunday, adding that at least one of the injured was in critical condition.

The suspects arrived at the club in a Miami neighborhood in a white SUV after midnight, wait until people started exiting the building before they got out of the vehicle "began shooting randomly into the crowd." Several people in the crowd who were armed began firing back at the shooters, who fled.

Police Chief Alfredo Ramirez promised on Twitter that the "cold-blooded killers" would be brought to justice.

According to the Miami Herald, Ramirez said, "This type of gun violence has to stop. Every weekend it is the same thing. This is targeted." He asked anyone with information on the shooting to come forward. He also shared that a local Miami businessman has offered to give $100,000 to anyone with information leading to an arrest.

Police told the Herald that El Mula, the venue where the shooting occurred, had been rented out for the evening. Several Instagram flyers indicated that the gathering was an album release party with live performances from local rappers, such as ABMG Spitta.

There are no further details at this time as police are working to track down all potential victims, who were taken to various hospitals across the area. They are also reviewing footage to determine if any of the attackers had a connection with someone who was at the club for the event.
