Tyler, Texas - 30 years ago, little Megan Elizabeth Garner was seen for the very last time.

It was March 27, 1991, and kids in Tyler, Texas, were enjoying their spring break.

Megan must have been excited to be able to spend her days with her older siblings and cousins.

And that's exactly what she was doing on this one particular Wednesday.

While Melanie Jackson, Megan's mother, stayed at the apartment, Megan, her brother, and her cousin went down to a nearby playground on 4400 Paluxy Drive, according to the City of Tyler Police Department.

Everything was going well, up until at around 11:00 AM.

According to a NCMEC blog post, Megan went to her mother to get some snacks and left. Afterwards, her brother and cousin returned without her.

The Resource Center for Cold Case Missing Children's Cases instead reported that the children went up to the apartment to get some water, but left Megan outside as she was too afraid to cross the road.

The little girl was supposedly last seen standing by the air conditioner near the laundry room.

The mother was shocked and immediately went out to search for her daughter – without success. When she couldn't find her, she called 911 to report her missing.

Law enforcement officers launched an extensive search for Megan, but they were not able to track her down nor get a hold of any witnesses who might have seen Megan or anything suspicious going on.

Sadly, there is not a lot of information on the case, and there are no suspects or motives.

Today, even 30 years after her disappearance, the case of Megan Elizabeth Garner remains open.

Megan's mother has not given up hope that one day she will see her daughter again.

"I think it's so important to report anything that anyone might remember or might have seen or if someone has seen someone that looks like her age progression because you know all we want at this point is to know where Megan is," Melanie told CBS 19.

Megan Elizabeth Garner would be 34 years old this week.

At the time of her disappearance, Megan had brown hair and shadows under her brown eyes. She was wearing a long-sleeved pink, blue, and green t-shirt with horizontal stripes, pink corduroy pants, and blue and white Reebok sneakers.
