On Tuesday, The Daily Mail published an article claiming the politician's husband Byron Noem chats with women who are part of a "bimbofication" fetish scene, which involves models pumping their breasts with saline to achieve a "Barbie doll" look.

Byron reportedly sent over $25,000 to models he admired and shared photos that showed him wearing fake breasts of his own.

A representative for Noem told the New York Post that she is "devastated" by the news.

"The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at the time," the representative added.

The story comes less than a month after Noem was fired from her role leading DHS, and amid widespread outrage at killings perpetrated by immigration agents and rumors that she was having an affair with her top aide Corey Lewandowski.

Some critics have speculated that President Donald Trump and his administration fired Noem to get ahead of the story.

When Trump was asked about the story on Tuesday, he was surprised the Noem family confirmed the authenticity of the reporting.

"They confirmed it? Wow, well, I feel badly for the family if that's the case," Trump said.

"I haven't seen anything. I don't know anything about it," he awkwardly added. "That's too bad, but I just know nothing about it."
