While there are several kinds of delays in sporting events, what happened on Wednesday during the Loyola vs. Duquesne college basketball matchup might be a first!

The Atlantic 10 conference showdown was hilariously interrupted when an Uber Eats delivery worker walked onto the court during the first quarter of the Dukes' 72-58 win over the Ramblers.

With the players and coaches laser-focused on the game, it was an official who first noticed the delivery man wondering onto the corner of the court.

Trying to shoo him away as the action kept moving, an official timeout was eventually called. The employee was ushered off the court as both fans and game announcers were left in shock!

"This guy’s in the corner. Was he going to deliver the McDonald’s to someone on the court? Can we rule that out?" one announcer said during the broadcast.

"Maybe I’ll put my hand up. I’m getting a little hungry. Bring it over here," another joked in response.

While the bizarre stunt left many speechless, others like Duquesne coach Keith Dambrot had huge praise for the worker's dedication to his job.

"I really didn’t see it, that’s how crazy it is," Dambrot said in a post game interview. "I just saw the video after the game.

"Our guys were dying laughing in [the locker room]. Guy had a job to do. He did his job well."

Hoping to play without the distraction of another on-court food delivery, Duquesne basketball's next matchup is on Saturday against UMass at 4 PM EST, while Loyola will face Daytona on January 31 at 9 PM EST.
