Marvel's Wonder Man gets its hero!

Burbank, California - The Marvel Cinematic Universe has found its Wonder Man!

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has reportedly been selected to play the leading role in Disney+'s Wonder Man.

Per Variety, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been tapped for the titular role in the upcoming Disney+ series Wonder Man.

The 36-year-old is no stranger to the world of comic book adaptations. He portrayed Dr. Manhattan in HBO's adaptation of Watchmen, as well as Black Manta in the DC Extended Universe's Aquaman.

Abdul-Mateen is also known for his TV roles in Ambulance, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Us, and Black Mirror.

Wonder Man will be helmed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton. The 43-year-old filmmaker will also be directing 2025's Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Andrew Guest will serve as the Disney+ show's head writer.

A release date for Wonder Man has yet to be announced.
