An anonymous customer dined at the Guard and Grace restaurant in Denver on February 20 and left an extremely generous tip.

"Covid Sucks!" he scribbled on the receipt. He drew a smiley face and signed it only as the Covid Bandit.

Then, he added $200 for each of the steakhouse's employees.

The extra money brought the bill to a whopping $6,800 for a single meal!

The random act of kindness has knocked the socks off of the restaurant's owner and staff.

"Who the heck is this COVID BANDIT??!!" exclaimed Troy Guard, the restaurant's owner. "I'm just speechless."

He sincerely thanked the stranger for his kindness in a Facebook post and recounted how his employees cried and danced in celebration.

"From the bottom of my heart – and our entire staff ..... THANK YOU."

This is not the first time the mystery man has made his mark. Last month, employees of a café got a similar surprise in a Colorado town just over an hour away.

An identical gift leaves a trail of clues

Staff members at Notchtop Bakery and Café were also overwhelmed by a similarly generous gesture in January when a customer, who identified himself as David, gifted the same tip.

"$200 for each employee today!" the receipt read.

It was also signed "Covid sucks!" and had handwriting that looked identical to the note left in Denver a month later.

The unexpected joy has come at a trying time for restaurant staffers who are trying to make ends meet after Covid-19 shut down many establishments for months.

"Your gift has touched many lives," the café wrote in a thank-you post.

Folks in Colorado can't wait to see where the Covid Bandit will pop up next!
