According to The Washington Post, the autopsy report, that was dated on Tuesday, found that her body showed "no evidence of impairment by illicit substances" at the time of the accident.

While the report said Heche had used cocaine and marijuana prior to the crash without specifying when, it is now believed she was sober at the time.

The LA country chief medical examiner-coroner ruled that Heche died from burns and smoke inhalation sustained after she crashed her car into a house.

She inhaled smoke from the fire started by the crash, which damaged her respiratory system and eventually caused her to slip into a coma that ended in her death nine days later.

Heche was initially believed to be under the influence due to surveillance video footage caught of her driving erratically and speeding through a residential neighborhood before hitting the house.

The actor died without a will, resulting in a heated court battle between family members over how to handle her estate.

While Anne Heche may be clear of the rumors of her being intoxicated, the mystery of what caused her car crash that day remains unsolved.
