Though Marvel is currently exploring alternate timelines and new heroes , its competition could prove to be its true rivalry!

Following the success of the films Aquaman, the Wonder Woman series, and Zack Snyder's Justice League – it's clear the DCEU is stepping up!

Now that The Suicide Squad has hit theaters and streaming services, here are few more DCEU films to look out for that may give the MCU a run for its money!

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is finally becoming a superhero – kind of.

The former wrestler will portray the famous anti-hero, Black Adam, in the titular film set to be released in 2022.

Though we have some time before the film arrives, it's still worth noting its relevance!

For those who don't know, Black Adam, a.k.a. Teth-Adam, is the arch-enemy of Shazam.

The character was mentioned in the 2019 flick when the wizard explained to a young young Billy Batson that he chose a champion years ago who unleashed the Seven Deadly Sins on Earth and erased an entire civilization.

Black Adam isn't one to be messed, which will be interesting to see play out when he does finally go up against Shazam.

There has also been talk that The Rock is set to reprise his role in several other future films.

The DCEU has already shown that a villain's story can just be as entertaining as a hero's with the critically-acclaimed film, Joker.

Black Adam is set to premiere on July 29, 2022!

The Batman

Robert Pattinson will be DC's next Batman in the upcoming trilogy. The first film is set to be released in March 2022.

Yes, another Batman film is approaching.

But like its past counterparts have proven, each portrayal is equally diverse.

Enter Robert Pattinson!

The British heartthrob will now don the black cape as he fights the corrupt evil in the cursed Gotham.

The 2022 film follows the most popular DC character's second year of crime fighting.

Unfortunately, the Joker won't be his opponent this time, but he will face off against The Riddler.

The Twilight star will be joined by a star-studded cast, including Zoë Kravitz playing Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and Paul Dano as the psychotic serial killer.

Also making appearance will be The Penguin, portrayed by Colin Farrell who underwent an unbelievable transformation to get into character.

The movie will be the first a new Batman trilogy with Pattinson signed on to play the Dark Knight in the future films.

The question is, will he be able to convince fans that he can carry on the character's legacy?

The Batman will be released on March 22, 2022.

The Flash

Marvel isn't the only franchise that will play around with the multi-verse.

In the upcoming film based on the DC character, Barry Allen, played by Ezra Miller, will go back in time to prevent the murder of his mother.

But this leads to catastrophic events because, as has been explained many times before – messing with time is a big no no!

Still, the action-flick will not only bring back Ben Affleck's Batman, but also Michael Keaton, who infamously portrayed the caped-crusader in 1989.

Because Ezra effortlessly captured the role of the young superhero, there's no doubt that he will deliver in his first feature film.

Especially since he has some veterans on his side!

Don't blink! The Flash will be here before you know it on November 4, 2022.

Peacemaker

Another wrestler joining the superhero world!

Yes, please!

The world's most complicated anti-hero, Peacemaker, is getting his own show.

John Cena will reprise his role as the ruthless yet endearing serial killer in HBO Max series.

The show will follow the villain's origins while also picking up from where he left off after The Suicide Squad.

Because DC has been known for its darker themes and storylines, it's good to see the franchise exploring this further and giving its villains proper back stories.

Also James Gunn, who has written and directed dozens of Marvel films, is the show's creator, so if there was any doubt that this wouldn't be a success, think again!

Sadly, fans have to wait some time for this exciting new series to arrive.

Never fret though, The Suicide Squad is still available to stream on the app.

Peacemaker will be keeping the peace in January 2022!
