New Orleans, Louisiana – Police are on the hunt for a man wearing a costume of the Star Wars character Chewbacca and armed with a lightsaber – and likely a knife.

According to a message shared by the official Twitter account of the New Orleans Police Department, citizens should be on the lookout for a street performer believed to be a criminal in disguise.

In addition, the mugshot shows the Wookiee Chewbacca from Star Wars, and he is even carrying a red lightsaber in his hand.

In odd contrast is the decidedly serious reason for the performer being wanted for arrest.

The suspect in the Chewie costume allegedly injured another man with a knife during an argument in the famous French Quarter of New Orleans on the evening of April 24.

Local news sites say a witness saw the dangerous street performer without his mask for a brief moment during the altercation.

According to the report, a young Black man in his early 20's is said to be under the Chewbacca outfit.

However, police have yet to determine the exact identity of the knifeman. Perhaps this unusual mugshot will help them do so.
