Jaiden Ausberry commits to "next chapter" and puts Notre Dame football back on top
Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Top linebacker Jaiden Ausberry will play college football for the Fighting Irish after he pledged to the program on Thursday.
On Thursday, four-star defensive athlete Jaiden Ausberry announced his commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, putting the program back in the top spot of the recruiting rankings for the incoming class of 2023.
Ausberry, the No. 8 linebacker in the country and the No. 7 overall player in the state of Louisiana, chose the Irish over the likes of LSU, Auburn, Alabama, and Michigan.
"They have everything I need on and off the field to succeed, so I think that was the best decision for me," Ausberry said of his decision to commit to Notre Dame.
At 6-foot-1and 210 pounds, Ausberry's athleticism matched with his quick-thinking during plays drives his defensive skills to be some of the best on the field.
Last season, he garnered close to 100 tackles, four score fumbles, and picked off three passes as a junior. Throughout his high school career thus far, Ausberry has compiled 269 tackles, with 18 for losses and 16 sacks.
Ausberry comes from a rich football family, as his father played for LSU and his brother, Austin Ausberry, will play his freshman season for the Auburn Tigers next fall.
Ausberry's commitment to Notre Dame becomes the program's 21st pledge of the 2023 class.
