Lucasfilm previously announced that Amandla Stenberg would play a lead role in the TV show during this year's San Diego Comic-Con. The 24-year-old, who rose to prominence as Rue in The Hunger Games, most recently starred in A24's Bodies Bodies Bodies.

Now, the starry crew joining her and the Star Wars family has been revealed.

According to the newly-released cast list, Squid Games star Lee Jung-jae is set to join Stenberg in the new series. The 49-year-old took home an Emmy Award this year for his work on Netflix's most popular show.

The Acolyte will also feature The Good Place star Manny Jacinto and The Matrix's Carrie-Ann Moss.

Jodie-Turner Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, and Dean-Charles Chapman round out the rest of the cast.

What is the new Star Wars show The Acolyte about?

The Acolyte will be a mystery/thriller series taking place during the final days of the High Republic, which sets the series before the events of the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

According to Disney+, the show will follow a former Padawan and her Jedi master who reunite during a criminal investigation and discover forces that are "more sinister than they ever anticipated."

Leslye Headland, who previously worked on Netflix's Russian Doll, will serve as creator, showrunner, and executive producer.

The eight-episode series will join The Mandalorian, Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi with exclusive streaming on Disney+.
