New York Climate Week: What to check out on Friday

New York, New York - There are solutions to climate change, and the NYC Climate Week can show you what they are, wrapping up the week with some heartwarming and hopeful events.

Climate change isn't a problem that needs to be solved alone and isolated from other issues.

Fighting Hunger can Help us Fight Climate Change is one way to see how solutions can fix one big problem like global hunger while also slowing climate change. The highlighted event is a virtual discussion hosted by The Hunger Project and starts at 10 AM EST.

The award-winning movie Microplastic Madness is free on YouTube until September 26. Stream it up and enjoy an alarming yet heartwarming story of 56 fifth graders' battle against climate change.

Schools can host their own screening of the 2019 film at a later date, and the event page includes a package for teachers who want to work with their students on the issues covered in the movie.

The NYC Water and Climate IV has something special in store for trivia lovers at 10 AM. The host of this event, Cobalt Water Global, organized a water charity featuring a speed trivia competition. The winner gets a framed picture of one of New York's water towers.

If you ever wondered what an urban beekeeper does, head on over to Battery Park at 12 PM EST for What's the Buzz. You can learn about bees' place in the biodiversity of the park, as well as what an urban beekeeper has to deal with to keep their buzzing buddies busy with blossoms.
