Hair tattoos are brining some much-needed color to the pandemic gray

Los Angeles, California - Being confined between four walls has led to some wild hairdos, but nothing measures up to what a hair tattoo can do for your look.

Many of the amateur haircuts that came out of the lockdown were bad enough to make any hairstylist's blood boil.

Now that numerous hair salons are open, stylists are able to give professional help to those who have been pining for something new to spice up their life in any way they can – for example, by getting a vibrant and unique hair tattoo!

The art of the hair tattoo isn't something new, but it's grown in popularity since the start of the pandemic.

Los Angeles-based artist-turned-hairstylist, Jeanine Ker, has been doing hair tattoos since 2016.

She's noticed the rise in its popularity since pre-pandemic days, telling Economic Times, "Hair is the only thing we have control over right now. You look in the mirror and see that you’ve changed something or made a difference in your life."

Coloring through a crisis

Hair tattooing can take many forms, and deciding which way to go is purely up to the client. Some opt for having sections of their hair buzzed off and have shapes or designs etched in and colored over. Others prefer to have an image colored onto their luscious locks – no cut necessary.

Fair warning, though: they may seem like a fun quarantine art project to do at home, but hair tattoos should likely be left to the professionals!
