First a 'little flu', now a little person: Bolsonaro mistakes dwarf for child

Aracaju, Brazil - Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro picked up a small person after mistaking him for a child during his latest presidential tour in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

The video, which quickly went viral on social media, shows Bolsonaro - once again without a mask - being greeted by a huge crown at Aracaju airport, in the capital of the northeastern state of Sergipe.

Bolsonaro greets and hugs his supporters, despite the rising number of coronavirus cases in his country.

Suddenly, he grabs someone, seemingly thinking it's a little boy dressed in a suit and tie.

He lifts him in the air and then onto his shoulder, while the little person shouts, "Legend! Bolsonaro!"

In the background, a woman asks, "Is that a child?" This is the point when the Brazilian president seems to realize his error and puts the man down again.

The video instantly went viral, with over two million views and  almost 15,000 likes.

There was a lot of scorn for the President in the comments section.

"His face is priceless!", chuckled one user.

Bolsonaro's refusal to wear a mask or keep the required distance also caused anger.

"I wonder how many he has already infected with coronavirus," one tweet said.

"The little guy now has Covid too," said another.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has long played down the coronavirus as a "small flu" and has recovered after being infected himself.
