Robert Gohlman from Titusville, Pennsylvania, not only performed a sex act on a dog – he did so in the presence of a child!

Right in front of the minor's eyes, the perpetrator stimulated a male dog. For this sickening act, the 28-year-old received a one-to-three-year prison sentence in June 2019.

To this day, Gohlman insists he has been unfairly treated. As Lehigh Valley Live reported, the man claimed on appeal that he was "over-sentenced" for his crime.

Jacqueline O. Shogan, the judge in charge, summarized Gohlman's arguments: he "contends that although the act of masturbating a dog in the presence of a minor is 'very unusual and weird,' it does not warrant a state sentence."

Shogan had a quite different opinion about the case.

Judges have no sympathy for Robert Gohlman

Shogan explained that Gohlman had already been on probation for another crime when he was arrested for animal abuse.

She also quoted the original judge in charge, John F. Spataro, who initially wrote: "It's hard to understand how any right-thinking person would do a thing like this under any circumstance let alone in the presence of a juvenile."

None of the judges accepted Gohlman's excuse that his crime had "nothing to do with a minor … just a dog when I was drunk. We've all done stupid stuff when we are drunk I just happened to do a stupid drunken bet."

One reason why the judges had difficulty following Gohlman's logic could have been his criminal record. The young man had been convicted for several offenses in the past, including corruption of minors, making false reports to police, harassment, and simple assault.
