According to the Mirror, Hawthorn realized how dicey the situation was and, after urging drivers of oncoming trains to slow down and stop if necessary, rushed down to the tracks.

"My worst fear was realized as it jumped down on the tracks. I was thinking, 'What should I do?' and then my training kicked in," he told the outlet.

With a croissant and a lot of coaxing, he finally managed to save the puppy from a horrible fate at the last minute.

The brave moment went viral on TikTok and has been clicked a whopping 10.9 million times – with thousands around the world praising Hawthorn's effort.
