Woman fights off incredibly aggressive rabid fox, Karate Kid style

Ithaca, New York - There's no moment quite as terrifying as one when you're attacked by an animal – especially a rabid fox.

When tending to a luscious yard in upstate New York, one probably wouldn't suspect they'd have to stand their ground against an unruly intruder.

Yet, that's what happened to one woman in Ithaca – and the whole ordeal was caught on a security camera. In a video posted on Twitter by meteorologist Ed Russo of CBS 21 News, a woman he cited as his cousin is seen chatting on the phone in her front yard when a stealth furry figure enters the frame.

Without hesitation, the rabid fox leaps at the woman, clawing at her pants. At this point, she's fully aware this is no friendly fox as she enters fight-or-flight mode – clearly opting for the former.

Guard dogs sounded the alarm for the most hysterical reason!

With each karate kick in the fox's direction, the rabid animal appears to bounce back from the woman's attempts to escape its attack with tenacity as if to say, "You thought you could get rid of me that easily? Ha!"

At one point, the woman sent the fox flipping and flying with a strong punt, hoping that maybe this time, it'd run off in fear. But rabid animals are seldom fearful – and the fox proved this point to be true.

After holding off the fox's advances for some time, a man – presumably the woman's husband – enters the frame with what appears to be a golf club in hand, sending the fox running into the woods.

According to Russo's Twitter feed, his cousin was treated immediately following the attack and is currently doing OK.
