Double trouble: tattoo twins are even harder to tell apart after getting matching ink

Los Angeles, California - Twin sisters Aline and Alena, better known as the Petunia Sisters, own a tattoo shop – and they definitely like sampling their own product!

The duo regularly tattoo each other and the striking similarities in designs and layouts on their bodies have people seeing double!

In a video for Hooked on The Look, Alena explained that clients not being able to tell them apart is funny, but things can get nasty when it comes to friends and boyfriends, "Especially when you date a boy and they don't know who's who the first time."

Even Aline's husband Salvatore had a hard time telling the two apart when they first got together. In fact, he didn't even know she had a sister, let alone a twin, until he dug into the black hole of Facebook.

"That was the first time I figured out she has a twin sister because I found both profiles, and I was like 'oh sh*t! Who's the right one?'"

Their tattoo obsession started at the age of 17 when both sisters got inked for the first time in their native country of Germany. The twins said both of their debut efforts have been covered up by other, more grandiose tattoos.

Vibrant color work is what makes the sisters' tattoo artistry stand out

Since then, the sisters have covered their bodies with a particularly bright array of tattoos that aren't commonly seen in the tattoo community.

Alena and Aline's tattoo shop, Petunia Sisters Ink, is as vibrantly decorated as the sisters' bodies, covered in artwork and mannequins hand-painted by them.

The studio serves as the background to many of the sisters TikTok videos, in which they show off not just their tattoos, but also their wild sense of humor.

Though their bodies are heavily covered with ink, they still seem to find new areas to get inked, or spots that want to modify and change up. After all, tattooing isn't a phase – it's a lifestyle.
