The Stray Rescue of St. Louis offers a special program called Rovernights, which allows families to foster shelter animals over the weekend and get to know them. The weekend retreats aim to relieve stress on shelter animals and workers, while also giving potential foster parents the chance to fall in love with their pet.

As part of this program, an adorable dog named Mr. Pugsley got to relax in a loving environment for the weekend, and loved every second of his grand getaway.

"Mr. Pugsley got to break out of his small shelter apartment," the shelter wrote in a Facebook post. "He got home on a Rovernight and look at this lover boy!"

"He is a WORLD CLASS SNUGGLE MONSTER!" they added, including pics of him playing and cuddling up all weekend long.

The pics of the dog with his heartwarming grin took the internet by storm, as many wrote in to celebrate the program and the pup's adorable smile.

This dog enjoyed the break from shelter life

Per the shelter's Facebook post, Mr. Pugsley enjoyed his time away from the shelter. He got to snuggle in the bed with his foster human for almost 12 hours, and it was a very-needed break for the pup and humans alike.

Though the family that fostered the black and tan pug couldn't adopt him, both shelter workers and Mr. Pugsley were thankful for the fun reprieve.

Hopefully, this smiley dog will find a forever home soon.
