Lindsay Lohan wishes she'd had access to one thing during her rise to fame

Los Angeles, California - Of all the things Lindsay Lohan wishes she could have had access to when she first rose to fame, social media is top of the list – here's why.

Though social media has become a bit of a burden for most celebrities, the Freaky Friday actor has a different take on the matter.

Lohan talked to Cosmopolitan about why it would've helped to have an Instagram or Twitter around during her early career days.

"When I first started out in the business, none of us had a say in how to control our own narrative. There were paparazzi pictures, and then people ran with it," the 36-year-old star told the outlet.

"So I think it's really good that in this day and age, people can say who they are and who they want to be. And I admire and appreciate that. I'm a little jealous because I didn't have that."

But the Herbie: Fully Loaded actor, who was subjected to public scrutiny during the 2000s due to her personal struggles, also touched on the downside of being too open with the public.

"You have to take everything people say with a grain of salt and just be you," she continued, adding that "everyone's so quick" to share on their accounts.

"I think it moves really fast, and I just try to keep up as best I can. And I check everything before I post it. I'll send it to people, because you have to."

In the meantime, Lohan's anticipated return to movies is just around the corner, since her new Netflix movie Falling For Christmas debuts on November 10.
