Did Bachelor Nation just pick its next Bachelorette?

Los Angeles, California – Viewers were shaken up when The Bachelor Clayton Echard sent Elizabeth Corrigan packing on Monday. Did her untimely exit land her the role as The Bachelorette's new lead?

For those who have tuned into season 28 of The Bachelor, it's no mystery that Clayton's been successfully gas-lit by Shanae Ankney (29).

On Monday, her plotting and scheming to have Elizabeth removed came to full fruition, when The Bachelor himself sided with Shanae's version of events.

Like a true class act, Elizabeth took the boot with dignity and respect, failing to share any parting words of truth to Clayton (28).

While it's sad to see one of the most gracious contestants get booted over falsities and mean-girl antics, it might not be bad news for Elizabeth's future with the franchise.

Following her exit on Monday's episode, Elizabeth shared an interesting video on her Instagram.

In the short clip, the 33-year-old is seen tossing a handful of rose petals in the same dress she left the show in, saying, "This isn't goodbye, Bachelor Nation, it's see you later. Love, Elizabeth."

Fans of The Bachelor – and Elizabeth – were quick to sound off in the comments, with one user writing, "Elizabeth are you trying to tell us something, are you going to be the next bachelorette?"

Another chimed in, "Classy, beautiful lady. You deserve better than Clayton. [Hopefully] you will be the next Bachelorette and bring some class back to the show."

Some stans opted to praise Elizabeth and offer well wishes rather than speculate.

"A true queen, classy and sassy," one user commented, while another said, "Yes queen! The comeback is always greater than the setback!"

It's pretty evident who Bachelor Nation wants to become The Bachelorette's next leading lady, but whether the producers are on the same page is a different ball game.
