Tarascon, France – A terrifying act of cannibalism has shaken a community after a man has been suspected of having kidnapped, decapitated, and then eaten a 13-year-old boy.

A case in France revealed gruesome details about the murder of a young teen.

The victim was reported missing after running away from his boarding school in Marseille. Police soon began their search.

On Sunday evening, shortly after 11 PM, a neighbor of his mother alerted officers to a disturbing lead.

He reported seeing a body in a garbage bag.

When police reached the scene in Tarascon, a 32-year-old suspect fled through a window over the roof of the apartment building.

Inside its walls, investigators discovered a horrific setting: a dead body was found in the kitchen, but its right arm and head were missing.

The body's head was later found in a bucket in the bathroom and, according to Le Figaro, had been partially eaten.

Satanic cult objects were also seized in the apartment.

The suspect was finally spotted by officers nearby at another location in Tarascon around 3 AM. Officers chased the man when he again tried to escape.

As he tried to climb over a gate in a dead-end street, he was gunned down and fatally wounded by a police officer. A separate investigation into the shooting has been launched.

The 13-year-old victim was on his way home from his school on Friday night to see his mother, who lives only a few houses away from the scene.

The perpetrator had already attracted attention in the past due to several other violent acts. Additionally, he is said to have suffered from mental disorders and to have been admitted to a psychiatric hospital several times.

Whether the crime was a satanic ritual is to be determined by the open investigation.
